News Reports Gunmen Kill Three Police Officers In Anambra by soluwajobi May 5, 2023 written by soluwajobi May 5, 2023 95 According to reports, the incident happened at Umunze community in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state. It was also gathered that the murdered officers were mobile policemen attached to the 29 PMF and 54 PMF Umunze. Confirming the attack, the Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra State Police Command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, described the incident as unfortunate. The police spokesperson added that it was part of the highest price security officers pay in serving the nation but the police command was not deterred by the development. He said reinforcements teams were already in the area and that the manhunt for the assailants was ongoing while joint security patrols had been intensified in the area. This is coming a week after four policemen were reportedly killed in a fresh attack in another South-Eastern state of Imo. Also killed in the Imo attack were two civilians along Okpala Junction in Ngorokpala Local Government Area of the state.
