News Reports Ekiti Police Arrest Notorious Kidnapping Suspect in Kogi by soluwajobi May 5, 2023 written by soluwajobi May 5, 2023 93 Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Dare Ogundare, yesterday, narrated how officers of the Command in Kogi State arrested a notorious kidnapper, alias ‘Danger’. The suspect was believed to be responsible for most kidnappings in Ekiti and neighbouring states. According to him, officers of the Command trailed “Danger” to his hideout in Kogi State and succeeded in arresting him. The new Commissioner of Police, who addressed members of Ekiti State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ado Ekiti, said the suspect is in the custody of the Command in Ado Ekiti. He said: “Since my assumption of office, we have arrested a lot of criminals terrorising the people and have prosecuted many of them. Today, we have gone to Kogi to arrest a notorious kidnapper, ‘Danger’, and he is now in our custody. “We have ensured that all exit and entry routes in Ekiti are well policed and I have also directed more reinforcement and deployment to flash points. I am here to seek your understanding and support.” The CP extolled efforts of journalists in the state to enlighten members of the public on the efforts being put in place by police to rid the state of criminal elements. He stressed the need for journalists to support the police in checking criminal activities through reportage of the Command’s activities. In his remark, the Chairman of NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Rotimi Ojomoyela, urged the CP to beam more searchlight on notable black spots in the state, especially the Atikakan, Oke Ako, Irele, Ipao, Ikere-Ise roads among others.
