News Reports ‘Terrorists Flee’ as Troops Repel Attack on Borno Community by joshuabiem September 15, 2023 written by joshuabiem September 15, 2023 86 Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) have reportedly repelled attacks by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on Banki community in Borno. Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the attacks were repelled by troops of the multinational joint task force (MNJTF). The publication said the terrorists numbering about 17, attempted to invade the town on two occasions, adding that no casualty was recorded. “In a series of events on the evening of September 12 and the early hours of September 13, 2023, MNJTF troops stationed in Banki, Borno state, Nigeria, successfully repelled two separate assaults by approximately 17 armed terrorists believed to be associated with #ISWAP,”the publication said. “These relentless efforts by the joint forces ensured the safety and security of Banki town, with no reported casualties during the incidents. The first incident occurred on September 12 at around 7:23 p.m. when a group of roughly 17 armed terrorists attempted to infiltrate Banki town from the surrounding vicinity. MNJTF troops, specifically the Nigerian battalion stationed in Banki alongside their Cameroonian counterparts, responded with unwavering determination. Their steadfast defence tactics forced the insurgents to withdraw from their assault. In a testament to the vigilance and preparedness of the MNJTF troops, the terrorists launched a second, more substantial offensive in the early hours of September 13, 2023, with a larger force. Once again, the joint forces stood firm and resolute, repelling the attackers and preventing any breach of Banki town.” Source: The Cable 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail joshuabiem previous post Gunmen Attack Plateau Church, Abduct Pastor, Two Others next post A Case for Democracy You may also like Russian Missiles Kill 31 In Ukraine, Gut Kyiv...
