News Reports 1 Dies in Osun Hoodlums Clash by joshuabiem May 15, 2024 written by joshuabiem May 15, 2024 64 One person has been confirmed dead in a clash involving two groups of hoodlums at Gbaemu junction in Osogbo, Osun State. It was gathered that the incident that occurred on Sunday involved some hoodlums from Balogun Agoro area and their rival from Egbatedo area. Findings showed that a group of the hoodlums had collected money from a property owner opposite Baba Popo Mosque when another group arrived and demanded to share from the proceed. The hoodlums who armed with dangerous weapons including guns, cutlasses, broken bottle and stones, the rival cult groups clashed at Gbaemu junction in Osogbo on Sunday. The incident caused panic among residents of Isale Aro, Station road, Oke woru, Oke Popo and Oja Oba area of Osogbo, capital of Osun state. The spokesperson of the police in the state, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Tuesday. She said, “Our operatives are there. They are still there presently. Men of Anti-cultism are still there, watching them. “Yes, we are on the trail of the perpetrators. They have been running whenever they see us approaching the area but we will get all those involved in the incident,” Opalola said. Opalola said the victim is a beggar who was hit by a bullet of the hoodlums.
