News Reports Suspected Robbers Kill Final Year A’Ibom Poly Student by eochogwu June 10, 2024 written by eochogwu June 10, 2024 64 Fear has gripped Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of the state following the murder of a student of the institution by suspected armed robbers terrorising the school environment. The victim, a final year student of the Electrical Electronics Department identified as Saviour, was shot dead Saturday night while dragging his cellphone with the armed robbers. Sources close to the school told our correspondent on Sunday on the condition of anonymity that the incident occurred at about 8 pm at Ikot Uboh in Ikot Ekpene LGA, close to where the student was living. According to the source, the armed robbers opened fire on their victim as he tried to raise the alarm. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, who confirmed the incident, said the command was working round the clock to ensure that the culprits were brought to book. “The perpetrators will be apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law. It is the determination of CP Waheed Ayilara to rid Akwa Ibom State of criminal elements. And this is not negotiable,” she said.
