Policy Weekly Between Communicative Engagement and Secession Movements by nextierspd September 18, 2020 written by nextierspd September 18, 2020 129 The friction between Biafran agitators and Nigerian security agencies boiled over once more on August 23, 2020, at Emene, Enugu state and led to the loss of two security operatives of the state and twenty-one members of a Biafran agitation group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). This number adds up to the loss of lives in previous episodes of the encounter between different Biafran agitators and state authorities. This week’s edition of Nextier SPD Policy Weekly deepens discussion on the need for a change from the use of force to communicative engagement in responding to secessionist movements. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail nextierspd previous post Political Rhetorics and Counterterrorism next post The Prize for Banditry You may also like Youth Bulge, Governance and Security in Post-conflict Sierra...
