Resources COMMUNIQUE: Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) – A Virtual Conference on its Assessment and Transition Options by nextierspd September 15, 2020 written by nextierspd September 15, 2020 126 The discussion of the PAP report coincides with recent speculations on the continuation of the programme. It is crucial to continue the conversation on the PAP issues and the Niger Delta region in general. The time-bound nature of the amnesty programme should trigger more engagement on the way forward. It is undoubtedly clear that the amnesty programme hastily organised and set out to buy peace has not addressed fundamental issues in the region. New efforts at addressing issues within the PAP and the area must be comprehensive, consultative, participatory, community-driven, and sustainable enough to handle all problems that have been discussed. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail nextierspd previous post Beyond Arming Citizens next post Political Rhetorics and Counterterrorism You may also like Nigeria’s Violent Conflict Data for President Bola Ahmed...
