News Reports One killed, Two Police Officers Injured’ as ‘Thugs’ Attack Kano Community by joshuabiem June 21, 2024 written by joshuabiem June 21, 2024 65 Some suspected hoodlums have killed one person and injured two police officers in Jaen Makera quarters in Kano. Usaini Gumel, commissioner of police in the state, disclosed this on Thursday. Gumel said the armed hoodlums defied police presence in the area and began attacking innocent people. The commissioner of police said the deceased, identified as Muktar Garba aka Babalia, died at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital where he was receiving treatment. Gumel said efforts have been intensified to identify and arrest the perpetrators. He added that the two injured police officers, identified as Wasilu Umar and Abdulmalik Yusif, have been treated and discharged. Gumel added that the command arrested Umar Shuaibu, a suspect, for attacking Yusif, while a vehicle attached to Filin Hockey was destroyed. The commissioner assured residents that normalcy has been restored to the area, as the command has launched an investigation into the cause of the attack.
