News Reports ‘Two Workers Killed’ as Bombs Explode at Construction Sites in Borno by joshuabiem February 29, 2024 written by joshuabiem February 29, 2024 73 Two labourers have reportedly lost their lives in bomb explosions at two separate construction sites in Dikwa LGA of Borno. Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the first bomb blast occurred at Koibe Primary School in the state. An intelligence source reportedly told the publication that the first blast occurred when a labourer transporting bricks to a section of the school under construction, ignorantly conveyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The source said the second IED exploded and killed another construction worker at a different site on the outskirts of Koibe. In another development, troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai, in Miringa area of Borno, reportedly killed one ISWAP terrorist. The publication said the troops killed the terrorist when it repelled an attack on military personnel, adding that one PKT gun was recovered from the insurgents. “It was gathered that at about 240010hourz Feb 24, the combined troops of 231 and 331 deployed at Command Science Girls Secondary School in Biu LGA in Borno state, came under attack by the terrorists who came on motorcycles,” the publication added.
