News Reports Villagers rescue farmer as woman, daughter abducted in Ogun by joshuabiem June 26, 2023 written by joshuabiem June 26, 2023 92 A three-man gang of kidnappers has reportedly abducted three persons, said to be a farmer, a woman and her daughter, in the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State. A resident of the area said the kidnappers carried out two operations in different villages in Imeko-Afon on Saturday. According to the source, the first operation was carried out at Saparu Village in Isale Oha Village in Imeko-Afon when a farmer, Ikanlu Jimoh, was abducted while he was planting tomatoes on his farm. The source said, “They covered their faces with masks, and they shot five gunshots to scare other people farming with him. “The victims were, however, abandoned by their abductors when the villagers chased them in the bush.” A few hours after the farmer was rescued, the same kidnapping gang struck and abducted a businesswoman, Mujidat Otefila, and her daughter. A resident of the area said Otefila was kidnapped Saturday night at her residence in Oju-Ilu Community Development Area, Isale, Imeko township, at the back of Imeko -Afon local government secretariat. According to the eyewitness, she was ambushed as she was driving into her compound while coming from her shop. The source added, “One of her daughters came down from the vehicle to open the gate of the house. The kidnappers suddenly appeared from their hiding place in the compound, descended on her, dragged her back into the car and forced the woman to drive to the outskirt of the community where the vehicle and the daughter were abandoned. “The incident happened around 9:50 p.m. on Saturday. They used the woman’s phone number to call her family.” When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incidents. Odutola explained that the policemen and men of the Amotekun corps combed the bush, which forced the kidnappers to flee. She said, “The Kidnappers fled when they heard sounds of motorcycles used to chase after them and we later found the victim tied up where he was abandoned and he was rescued. But, on the second incident, Odutola said that policemen are trailing the kidnappers, “There is a network challenge but the synergy with the vigilante and Amotekun is working. “I gathered that her baby has been rescued. “So far, we have rescued the little baby that was with her. Also, l have recovered her Toyota Corolla, which the kidnappers took her away with.” Source: Punch 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail joshuabiem previous post Police Fire Tear Gas at Sierra Leone Opposition After Vote next post Gang Armourer Killed in Delta, Weapons Recovered You may also like Russian Missiles Kill 31 In Ukraine, Gut Kyiv...
