The Nextier Violent Conflict Database recorded 17 violent incidents across eight Nigerian states between the 7th and 13th of April, 2024. These incidents resulted in 24 fatalities and four kidnap victims.

In this review week (March 31 – April 6, 2024), 11 Nigerian states recorded 35 fatalities and 64 kidnap victims from 17 violent incidents. The week saw an increase in all three indicators compared to the previous week.

Between the 24th – 30th March 2024, The Nextier Violent Conflict Database recorded 14 violent conflict incidents that resulted in 30 fatalities and 52 kidnap victims across 11 Nigerian states.

In this review week (17th – 23rd March 2024), 13 violent conflict incidents resulted in 38 fatalities and 135 kidnap victims. Niger State recorded the most fatalities, with 21 cases in the review week due to a bandit attack on Madaka community in Rafi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

The Nextier Violent Conflict Database recorded 18 violent conflict incidents between the 10th and 16th of March 2024 across 15 Nigerian states. These incidents led to 70 casualties (64 fatalities and six injured persons) and 72 kidnap victims.

Within the review week (18th and 24th of February 2024), 16 violent incidents were recorded across 11 states, which resulted in 81 casualties (62 fatalities and  19 injured persons) and 79 kidnap victims.

Violence continued in the review but with more casualties and kidnap victims. Between the 11th and 17th of February 2024, Nigeria recorded 18 violent incidents that resulted in 66 casualties (53 fatalities and 13 injured persons) and 116 kidnap victims across 11 states.

Eleven Nigerian states recorded 17 violent incidents that resulted in 42 casualties (38 fatalities and four injured persons) and 21 kidnap victims between the 4th and 10th of February 2024

The review period (January 28 – February 3, 2024) recorded 18 violent incidents that resulted in 38 casualties and 97 kidnap victims across 16 Nigerian states. Kidnap count decreased by 10.18 per cent when compared to the previous week.
